Selected Quranic verses

﴿ ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيۡنَا حِسَابَهُم ﴾

Then indeed, upon Us is their account.

﴿ وَٱلۡفَجۡرِ ﴾

By the dawn

﴿ وَلَيَالٍ عَشۡرٖ ﴾

And [by] ten nights[1913]

﴿ وَٱلشَّفۡعِ وَٱلۡوَتۡرِ ﴾

And [by] the even [number] and the odd

﴿ وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذَا يَسۡرِ ﴾

And [by] the night when it passes,

﴿ هَلۡ فِي ذَٰلِكَ قَسَمٞ لِّذِي حِجۡرٍ ﴾

Is there [not] in [all] that an oath [sufficient]...

﴿ أَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِعَادٍ ﴾

Have you not considered how your Lord dealt with ʿ...

﴿ إِرَمَ ذَاتِ ٱلۡعِمَادِ ﴾

[With] Iram[1915] - who had lofty pillars,[1916]

﴿ ٱلَّتِي لَمۡ يُخۡلَقۡ مِثۡلُهَا فِي ٱلۡبِلَٰدِ ﴾

The likes of whom had never been created in the la...

﴿ وَثَمُودَ ٱلَّذِينَ جَابُواْ ٱلصَّخۡرَ بِٱلۡوَادِ ﴾

And [with] Thamūd, who carved out the rocks in the...

﴿ وَفِرۡعَوۡنَ ذِي ٱلۡأَوۡتَادِ ﴾

And [with] Pharaoh, owner of the stakes?[1917]

﴿ ٱلَّذِينَ طَغَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡبِلَٰدِ ﴾

[All of] whom oppressed within the lands
