Selected Quranic verses

﴿ نَارُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُوقَدَةُ ﴾

It is the fire of Allāh, [eternally] fueled,

﴿ ٱلَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةِ ﴾

Which mounts directed at the hearts.[1989]

﴿ إِنَّهَا عَلَيۡهِم مُّؤۡصَدَةٞ ﴾

Indeed, it [i.e., Hellfire] will be closed down up...

﴿ فِي عَمَدٖ مُّمَدَّدَةِۭ ﴾

﴿ أَلَمۡ تَرَ كَيۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡفِيلِ ﴾

Have you not considered, [O Muḥammad], how your Lo...

﴿ أَلَمۡ يَجۡعَلۡ كَيۡدَهُمۡ فِي تَضۡلِيلٖ ﴾

Did He not make their plan into misguidance?[1993]

﴿ وَأَرۡسَلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ طَيۡرًا أَبَابِيلَ ﴾

And He sent against them birds in flocks,

﴿ تَرۡمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٖ مِّن سِجِّيلٖ ﴾

Striking them with stones of hard clay,

﴿ فَجَعَلَهُمۡ كَعَصۡفٖ مَّأۡكُولِۭ ﴾

And He made them like eaten straw.[1994]

﴿ لِإِيلَٰفِ قُرَيۡشٍ ﴾

For the accustomed security of the Quraysh[1996] -

﴿ إِۦلَٰفِهِمۡ رِحۡلَةَ ٱلشِّتَآءِ وَٱلصَّيۡفِ ﴾

Their accustomed security [in] the caravan of wint...

﴿ فَلۡيَعۡبُدُواْ رَبَّ هَٰذَا ٱلۡبَيۡتِ ﴾

Let them worship the Lord of this House,[1998]
