Selected Quranic verses

﴿ وَٱلۡعَصۡرِ ﴾

1. By Al-‘Asr (the time).

﴿ إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لَفِي خُسۡرٍ ﴾

2. Verily, man is in loss,

﴿ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلصَّ... ﴾

3. Except those who believe (in Islâmic Monotheism...

﴿ وَيۡلٞ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٖ لُّمَزَةٍ ﴾

1. Woe to every slanderer and backbiter.[1]

﴿ ٱلَّذِي جَمَعَ مَالٗا وَعَدَّدَهُۥ ﴾

2. Who has gathered wealth and counted it.

﴿ يَحۡسَبُ أَنَّ مَالَهُۥٓ أَخۡلَدَهُۥ ﴾

3. He thinks that his wealth will make him last fo...

﴿ كَلَّاۖ لَيُنۢبَذَنَّ فِي ٱلۡحُطَمَةِ ﴾

4. Nay! Verily, he will be thrown into the crushin...

﴿ وَمَآ أَدۡرَىٰكَ مَا ٱلۡحُطَمَةُ ﴾

5. And what will make you know what the crushing F...

﴿ نَارُ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُوقَدَةُ ﴾

6. The fire of Allâh kindled,

﴿ ٱلَّتِي تَطَّلِعُ عَلَى ٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةِ ﴾

7. Which leaps up over the hearts,

﴿ إِنَّهَا عَلَيۡهِم مُّؤۡصَدَةٞ ﴾

8. Verily, it shall be closed upon them,

﴿ فِي عَمَدٖ مُّمَدَّدَةِۭ ﴾
