Selected Quranic verses
﴿ أَءِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابٗا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَدِينُونَ ﴾
As-Sāffāt
that when we die and become dust and bones, shall...
﴿ قَالَ هَلۡ أَنتُم مُّطَّلِعُونَ ﴾
As-Sāffāt
He will say[14], “Do you wish to see [his fate]?”
﴿ فَٱطَّلَعَ فَرَءَاهُ فِي سَوَآءِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ ﴾
As-Sāffāt
So he will look down and see him[15] in the midst...
﴿ قَالَ تَٱللَّهِ إِن كِدتَّ لَتُرۡدِينِ ﴾
As-Sāffāt
He will say, “By Allah, you were about to ruin me.
﴿ وَلَوۡلَا نِعۡمَةُ رَبِّي لَكُنتُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُحۡضَرِينَ ﴾
As-Sāffāt
Were it not for the grace of my Lord, I would have...
﴿ أَفَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَيِّتِينَ ﴾
As-Sāffāt
[He will say to his fellow believers], “Are we not...
﴿ إِلَّا مَوۡتَتَنَا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ ﴾
As-Sāffāt
except for our first death, nor are we going to be...
﴿ إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ ﴾
As-Sāffāt
This is indeed the supreme triumph!
﴿ لِمِثۡلِ هَٰذَا فَلۡيَعۡمَلِ ٱلۡعَٰمِلُونَ ﴾
As-Sāffāt
For such [reward] let the workers work.
﴿ أَذَٰلِكَ خَيۡرٞ نُّزُلًا أَمۡ شَجَرَةُ ٱلزَّقُّومِ ﴾
As-Sāffāt
Is this a better accommodation or the tree of Zaqq...
﴿ إِنَّا جَعَلۡنَٰهَا فِتۡنَةٗ لِّلظَّٰلِمِينَ ﴾
As-Sāffāt
We have made it a trial for the wrongdoers.
﴿ إِنَّهَا شَجَرَةٞ تَخۡرُجُ فِيٓ أَصۡلِ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ ﴾
