﴿ عَٰلِمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ فَلَا يُظۡهِرُ عَلَىٰ غَيۡبِهِۦٓ أَحَدًا ﴾

[He is] the Knower of the unseen, He does not reve...

﴿ يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُزَّمِّلُ ﴾

O you the enwrapped one[1],

﴿ قُمِ ٱلَّيۡلَ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا ﴾

Stand up in prayer at night except a little,

﴿ نِّصۡفَهُۥٓ أَوِ ٱنقُصۡ مِنۡهُ قَلِيلًا ﴾

half of it, or a little less,

﴿ أَوۡ زِدۡ عَلَيۡهِ وَرَتِّلِ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ تَرۡتِيلًا ﴾

or a little more, and recite the Qur’an at a measu...

﴿ إِنَّا سَنُلۡقِي عَلَيۡكَ قَوۡلٗا ثَقِيلًا ﴾

We will send down upon you a heavy Word[2].

﴿ إِنَّ نَاشِئَةَ ٱلَّيۡلِ هِيَ أَشَدُّ وَطۡـٔٗا وَأَقۡوَمُ قِيلًا ﴾

Indeed, worship at night is more effective[3] and...

﴿ إِنَّ لَكَ فِي ٱلنَّهَارِ سَبۡحٗا طَوِيلٗا ﴾
