Selected Quranic verses

﴿ كَأَنَّهُمۡ حُمُرٞ مُّسۡتَنفِرَةٞ ﴾

as if they were terrified wild asses,

﴿ فَرَّتۡ مِن قَسۡوَرَةِۭ ﴾

fleeing from a lion?

﴿ بَلۡ يُرِيدُ كُلُّ ٱمۡرِيٕٖ مِّنۡهُمۡ أَن يُؤۡتَىٰ صُحُفٗا مُّنَشَّرَةٗ ﴾

In fact, each one of them desires that open [divin...

﴿ كَلَّاۖ بَل لَّا يَخَافُونَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةَ ﴾

By no means! They rather do not fear the Hereafter...

﴿ كَلَّآ إِنَّهُۥ تَذۡكِرَةٞ ﴾

No indeed! This [Qur’an] is a reminder.

﴿ فَمَن شَآءَ ذَكَرَهُۥ ﴾

So whoever wills may take heed.

﴿ وَمَا يَذۡكُرُونَ إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُۚ هُوَ أَهۡلُ ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ وَأَهۡلُ ٱلۡمَغۡفِرَةِ ﴾

But they will not take heed unless Allah so wills....

﴿ لَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِيَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ ﴾

I swear by the Day of Resurrection,

﴿ وَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِٱلنَّفۡسِ ٱللَّوَّامَةِ ﴾

and I swear by the self-reproaching soul[1]!

﴿ أَيَحۡسَبُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ أَلَّن نَّجۡمَعَ عِظَامَهُۥ ﴾

Does man think that We cannot reassemble his bones...

﴿ بَلَىٰ قَٰدِرِينَ عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّسَوِّيَ بَنَانَهُۥ ﴾

In fact, We are able to restore even his very fing...

﴿ بَلۡ يُرِيدُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ لِيَفۡجُرَ أَمَامَهُۥ ﴾

But man desires to persist in sin[2],
