Selected Quranic verses

﴿ أَوۡ إِطۡعَٰمٞ فِي يَوۡمٖ ذِي مَسۡغَبَةٖ ﴾

or giving food on a day of hunger,

﴿ يَتِيمٗا ذَا مَقۡرَبَةٍ ﴾

to an orphan relative,

﴿ أَوۡ مِسۡكِينٗا ذَا مَتۡرَبَةٖ ﴾

or to a needy person in misery,

﴿ ثُمَّ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلصَّبۡرِ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلۡمَرۡحَمَةِ ﴾

then [most importantly] to be one of those who bel...

﴿ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ ﴾

Such are the people of the Right[4].

﴿ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا هُمۡ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ ﴾

As for those who reject Our signs, they are the pe...

﴿ عَلَيۡهِمۡ نَارٞ مُّؤۡصَدَةُۢ ﴾

who will be locked up in the Fire.

﴿ وَٱلشَّمۡسِ وَضُحَىٰهَا ﴾

By the sun and its brightness,

﴿ وَٱلۡقَمَرِ إِذَا تَلَىٰهَا ﴾

and by the moon as it follows it[1],

﴿ وَٱلنَّهَارِ إِذَا جَلَّىٰهَا ﴾

and by the day as it displays it[2],

﴿ وَٱلَّيۡلِ إِذَا يَغۡشَىٰهَا ﴾

and by the night as it covers it[3],

﴿ وَٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا بَنَىٰهَا ﴾

and by the sky and how He made it,
