﴿ أَلۡهَىٰكُمُ ٱلتَّكَاثُرُ ﴾

Competition for worldly gains distracts you [from...

﴿ حَتَّىٰ زُرۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَقَابِرَ ﴾

until you come to your graves.

﴿ كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ ﴾

No indeed! You will come to know.

﴿ ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ ﴾

Again no! You will come to know.

﴿ كَلَّا لَوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عِلۡمَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ ﴾

No indeed! If only you knew for certain[1].

﴿ لَتَرَوُنَّ ٱلۡجَحِيمَ ﴾

You will surely see the Blazing Fire,

﴿ ثُمَّ لَتَرَوُنَّهَا عَيۡنَ ٱلۡيَقِينِ ﴾

Again, you will see it with absolute certainty.

﴿ ثُمَّ لَتُسۡـَٔلُنَّ يَوۡمَئِذٍ عَنِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ﴾

Then on that Day you will surely be asked about yo...

﴿ وَٱلۡعَصۡرِ ﴾

By the time,

﴿ إِنَّ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ لَفِي خُسۡرٍ ﴾

man is in utter loss,

﴿ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِٱلصَّ... ﴾

except those who believe and do righteous deeds, a...

﴿ وَيۡلٞ لِّكُلِّ هُمَزَةٖ لُّمَزَةٍ ﴾

Woe to every backbiter and slanderer,
